The 'Arun' Class self-righting lifeboats fulfill the search and rescue requirements of the Canadian Coast Guard in the rougher waters of the> Atlantic where the requirement for a semi-displacement seaworthy vessel is necessary. These vessels are not E.Y.E. designs, however, E.Y.E. produced all the working drawings, lofting and part generation by computer. This project demonstrated that good cooperation between the owners, builders (Hike Metal Products of Wheatley, Ontario) and the naval architects will result in a high quality project which can be completed on time and on budget.

The 'Arun' class vessel, "Sambro", can be seen daily outside the mouth of Halifax Harbour.
