66m Geophysical Research Vessel

Bernier

Designed and built for Petro Canada in 1982, the "Bernier" is a 66m vessel originally configured to operate as a geophysical research vessel. The vessel is diesel electric propelled and incorporates several features in the hull design to minimize noise and wake for efficient survey work.

After several years of successful world wide operation the vessel was acquired by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and renamed the R/V "Maurice Ewing". She continues to operate as a world wide research vessel providing data to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the United States.
