Buckton / Birch Work Boats – Production Design

Buckton

This project consisted of a design check and production drawings based on contract drawings from Capilano Maritime Design for two work boats for Canadian Natural Resources Ltd for use in the Alberta tar ponds. Detailed production and system drawings and lofted parts were produced for Hike Metal Products Ltd. to build two vessels of the same design.

Machinery and Auxiliary Systems

Powered by two 160 hp John Deere engines, this vessel is fitted with dual propeller nozzles with integrated rudders.

Outfitting

These vessels are fitted with winches and towing equipment for maneuvering  a 22.1m barge.  A crane is also installed on the aft deck.

Construction

Constructed of steel, with an aluminum wheelhouse.
